One Week Away

Hello Loved Ones!

Copper is all packed up and ready for his big trip across the Atlantic! Sarah and I on the other hand are not quite there yet…

We wanted to share some updates with you as we spend these final days preparing to make the move abroad.

Priorities Since our last update, we’ve continued to prioritize family and friends. We’ve loved every minute we’ve spent chatting, laughing, eating out, and even getting to spend a few days up north with Sarah’s family. We especially cherished the time we had with our nephews Mason and Parker.

Thank You

We’d like to give a special thank you to Pastor Jerome and City Life Lansing for the opportunity last Sunday to share about our work and support needs during service. City Life Lansing is one of the churches who will be financially and prayerfully supporting Blooming Abroad as we go.

What’s Next

In addition to packing and dealing with some final logistics, Sarah and my time will be focused two-fold this week:

  1. As we mentioned in our last post. My (Cullen) grandma was nearing the doorstep of Heaven. This past Sunday she finally slipped off peacefully into eternity. This Saturday we will celebrate her life with family in her hometown of Williamston, Michigan. Thank you to all who have messaged and called offering support, it means a lot!

  2. We will focus on making our final push to reach our financial goal. At the moment of this post, we are $267/month, ($3,204 total) away from being fully funded! If you are interested or have questions on how to give to Blooming Abroad, please visit our giving page https://www.bloomingabroad.org/support

Prayer

Here are our updates on past prayer requests as well as up to date prayer requests:

Updates

  • Thank you for praying for our family as Grandma passed, the prayers were felt! She left us peacefully, in her own home, and surrounded by family.

  • Thank you for praying for our fundraising! We‘ve made serious progress! So close!

  • Thank you for praying for and continuing to pray for smooth travel into Hungary specifically for our pup Copper. Sarah’s mother and Uncle unfortunately will not be joining us as they were not approved to enter the country due to COVID restrictions still in place. However, we are confident they will be able to join us this Fall!

Up to Date

  • Please pray for Sarah and I. That we would grow, stay connected and that are marriage would be stronger through this process of leaving home to say “yes” to serving the Roma people of Hungary.

  • Please continue to pray for our travel and entry into the country.

  • Please pray for us, our families, and friends as we all adjust to life without one another. Pray for innovative ways for us to stay connected.

In Closing

In closing, we’d like to leave you with a sincere thank you. Now that reality has set in and we can almost smell the sunflower fields of Hungary that awaiting us… an overwhelming sense of gratitude has begun to take over. If you are reading this, chances are you have played a part in this story, in our story. Collectively, you have all kept us going til this point and as we take that last step from the jetway onto the airplane next Thursday, we will be thinking of you.

Talk to you soon (next time from Hungary),

C + S
