Three Weeks Away

Updated: Jul 24, 2021

Hello Loved Ones!

We (Sarah and I) are three weeks away from the beginning of our journey across the Atlantic and to the outskirts of Budapest.

We are overwhelmed by the support that has and is flowing over our lives (and into the Blooming Abroad bank account :) as we prepare to begin this new chapter of life. Priorities

This summer has been full of planning, meeting, gathering support, and prioritizing family. We‘ve had opportunities to sit around fires and travel alongside loved ones. I (Cullen) have been given such a precious gift, in spending this summer helping to care for my grandmother, who as I send this update is knocking at the door of Heaven.

Garage Sale

We were so grateful to see so many of you at our garage sale last week! We were able to return the kindness of Sarah’s parents allowing us to stay in their basement and save money this past year, by clearing out that same basement! In doing so, we added $2,000 to our fundraising!

Thank You

We’d like to say a huge thank you to our board members: Kel Scott, Derek and Michelle DiCesare. You have been so patient, informative, and devoted these past few months and we would not be here without you.

What’s Next

These last couple of weeks in the states will be filled with more of the same priorities that have marked our summer thus far. We are drawing very close to our financial goal of raising $4,000 monthly. Currently, we are inside $1,000 of remaining support! Please pray that we reach this mark before August 5th.

Prayer

In addition, we are asking for prayer in the following areas:

  1. Unity and emotional intimacy for Sarah and Cullen

  2. Comfort for the Menke family as Grandma Sue makes her journey home to be with Jesus

  3. That the remaining fundraising goal would be met (<$1,000/monthly to go)

  4. Smooth travel into Hungary specifically for our pup Copper, Sarah’s mother, and Uncle who are joining us. *This is asked for due to some international travel restrictions still in place

In Closing In closing, we’d like to leave you with a portion of Colossians that we routinely prayed over our youth group students while leading at Element Church. We’ve adjusted it to read in a more personal way, hope it brings you a clearer image of who Jesus is as you finish reading this.

Talk to you soon,

C + S
